First off a big thank you for choosing Beautox+ for your treatment procedures
Whilst every care and attention to detail has been taken to minimise any problems and in the time we’ve been doing this we’ve had no clients having issues, but of course sometimes they do happen and so we’ve produced this to help you understand what may happen and what to do
Botox®
First off don’t worry about not seeing any effects immediately after the treatment or in the first few days after treatment, as it can usually take up to 10 days to start to see any lasting effects and in most cases up to 14 days to see the full effect of any treatment
What’s Normal after a Treatment?
Injections are an invasive procedure and likely to cause a small amount of swelling, a possible redness around the area, a temporary lump or bump where the injection was made, light bruising to the skin and sensations on the skin such as tingling or itching, all of which should be mild
These effects are quite common and can be considered a normal effect of the treatment
Initial effects of the treatment will begin to show in the first few days
The most effective results will begin to appear around 10 days after treatment, although the results will continue to improve up to a month and beyond
You should be aware that the usual time for treatment results to start to wear off is after 3-4 months or sometimes more, so to continue to have the benefits of the Botox® treatment further treatment processes are possible at this time

Dermal Fillers
If you have undergone a dermal filler treatment with us, we will have injected a Hyaluronic Acid Gel into your skin or lips to help improve the shape, the proportional look and any lines, shadows or wrinkles as part of the treatment
What’s Normal to expect after a Treatment?
As part of the product it contains an anaesthetic in the gel, so you may feel a numbness or tingling during or immediately after the procedure
The injection in to the skin may produce some moderate swelling around the area injected, a redness to the skin and light bruising and tenderness is expected in the areas treated
Some people experience a dull ache and tenderness around the treated areas because of the injection breaking the skin, this usually begins to subside in the first 24 hours after treatment and should have disappeared within a week maximum
Mild to non-painful swelling can last for up to 2 weeks
Blood spots are likely to be visible at the injection site following treatment
Bruising may be more obvious the next day at the treatment site
The majority of bruising or swelling will fade over 7 to 14 days.
A small minority of bruises may last as long as 6 weeks
Dermal fillers results are immediate and can last for 6-18 months
How to Protect and Reduce Side Effects
- Keep the area clean and avoid contact during the first day after treatment
- Avoid exposure to UV light or Sunbeds for a couple of days
- Strenuous exercise should be avoided as this may increase discomfort and swelling
- Keep the area cool with a cold compress, but don’t apply ice directly to the skin
- Avoid a facial massage until the area has healed sufficiently
- Reduce the chance of infection by avoiding makeup application until the day after treatment
When to Contact Us …
We do Dermal Filling regularly and serious complications are rare, but like all procedures it does carry some risk and it’s vital you seek an urgent review with us if the following occur
- A swelling, puffiness or lumpiness that does not fade in the first weeks
- The filler changes texture and becomes hard, nodular or lumpy
- If there is redness or tenderness that lasts longer than 48 hours after treatment
Please contact us first about any of these symptoms and whilst we take all due care and attention, they may indicate the need for medical assistance from a doctor
IMPORTANT
In very rare cases, and it’s not something we’ve experienced, you may develop increasing pain near the site of injection which is getting worse over time and you should contact us straight away, as an urgent reversal or other medical interventions may be required immediately to prevent further problems
If for any reason we are unreachable to discuss the above symptoms, we would advise an attendance at a Hospital Accident and Emergency Service, but we stress this is a very vary rare occurrence and more seen on TV than in real life and not something to deter you from the treatment process
